- Photographers registered to enter all categories will be limited to 100 entries, and those registered to enter the 20 categories will be limited to 60 entries.
On July 12, 2010, the Board voted unanimously to accept the new changes as presented. We would like to thank all those who took the time to submit their comments, and we look forward to another great contest. The new changes to the rules will be available on this web site ASAP.
Further explanation of the first rule change
A shooting day is defined as a standard 24-hour day beginning at midnight where one or more photos are taken for intended use in the contest. The 150 days may be broken down into any one day or any combination of days that best suit the desires of the Landowner and Photographer and can be chosen or changed at anytime during the contest. This will allow flexibility for scheduling around good/bad weather conditions or any other unforeseen situations that may arise over such an extended contest period such as travel/business/vacations plans, hunting seasons, holidays, unexpected events, etc.
The main objective for this rule change is to take advantage of unique seasonal changes where shooting conditions may develop such as, frost, ice, maybe even snow, or just clear skies; and where wildlife is more likely to be in their prime. Our hope is to see a new variety of photos that capture these seasonal changes in the habitat and the animals, and to see behavioral activities never before presented in our books.
